Having crappy, laborious hobbies that have previously been known as "problems" or "work" and have since been made obsolete by companies that know how to scale a solution thus providing you cheap, easy, and healthy alternatives...yet you insist on a DIY stance = Epic Fail (on your part). I mean, what are you some sort of "Store-bought-pickled-veggie Monk"? Please, use the force for good...or at least something else more interesting.
Some things were just meant to be outsourced.
The past week/month has been a flurry of bad financial news. From large banks failing, to the government dedicating BILLIONS (with a "B") of dollars to bail these guys out of bankruptcy. A friend of mine made the comment "Privatize profits, but socialize the losses". I thought that was a very interesting thought. If you succeed you're fine, but if you fail everyone hurts (taxpayers).
But I'm not sure he got it totally right. I mean really, even success has costs via higher tax rates. So truly, success is socialized as well. To say we need a financial overhaul in this country is an understatement.

Please can we get a third party? The republicans want to get us further into debt, and the dems want to further tax me so that they can give everybody a trophy.

Notice that I didn't say "MySpace". Their network and shear numbers just can't be dismissed. But please for the love of God could Chris DeWolfe and Tom Anderson please fix that UI! I've actively avoided MySpace simply because I can't deal with the flashbacks to "InterToobz 1995". I suspect that professionally I'll have to make that sacrifice and expand my social web exposure beyond Facebook and LinkedIn but for now I'm procrastinating in hopes that MySpace will die an ugly death.
Let's face it. Facebook is head and shoulders above the fold here.
*Disclaimer - I've not gone to Bebo or Hi5. So flame away if you wish. They could even be better but for now, my Facebook network is 80+ and it would take quite a lot to get me away from it. Thus the power of the network.
Welcome to Epic Fail, a blog consisting of the best of the worst. I had reservations starting a blog on something so negative because it just isn't in line with how I want to live (finding the worst of everything) but after some thought I decided that in failure we can find success. Learning from others' mistakes so that we may succeed is just smart and therefore positive and uplifting.
I'm making this sound much more serious than I plan this blog to be. I hope to keep this fun, but expect that I'll use this a soapbox at times as well. If my personality comes out through my writing than I'd be okay with that.
